Whakapapa for Māori is not a linear thing, it goes up and down and through. It’s about past and present. Understanding our hononga to Papatūānuku. The exchange is back and forth. She takes care of us and we take care of her. Awhi Companys Hononga Pēpi Knitted Blanket hopes to teach the next generation to care for and honour the depth and beauty of Papatūānuku.
