Piupiu Earrings - Red
These intricate Piupiu Earrings in Red are handcrafted by Māori designer Lee Olsen.
This gorgeous jewellery is inspired by piupiu - a skirt-like garment used for kapa haka performances. The te reo Māori word piupiu can also mean 'to wave about' and 'move to and fro' - a fitting description for these fun and lightweight earrings.
- Piupiu earrings made with bamboo
- Earrings measure approximately 7cm in length
- Stainless steel hooks
- Handcrafted in Hastings, Aotearoa
Under her brand Awe, Lee Olsen has been making Māori inspired jewellery for many years, selling from home and doing the odd craft market. We are so excited to have Lee's ātaahua designs available online and in store at Wellington Museum.
