Metal Earth Cable Car

$22.00 NZD

Create your very own cable car with this Metal Earth model of the San Francisco Cable Car.

This amazing 3D steel model features stunning details and comes with easy to follow instructions.

This model depicts an iconic San Francisco Cable Car which is very similar to Wellington's own iconic 'relentless red rattlers'. Wellington's Gripcars transported passengers between Lambton Quay,  Victoria University and the hilltop suburb of Kelburn. The cars ran until 1978 when they were replaced with today's electric cars.

The San Francisco cable car system is the world's last manually operated system in the US and is among the most famous tourist attractions in the city along with Alcatraz Island and Fisherman's Wharf. Cable cars operate on two routes from downtown near Union Square to Fisherman's Wharf and a third route along California Street.
