Mrs Chippy was the ship's cat on Sir Ernest Shackleton's expedition to Antartica aboard the Endurance from 1914-1917. Mrs Chippy gained her name from her owner Harry "Chippy" McNeish, who was a carpenter and shipwright on board the Endurance.
